Kyphosis

When it comes to kyphosis, we have more knowledge and experience.

In the vernacular, kyphosis is described as hunchback, a common condition whose classic sign is a pronounced curvature of the middle (thoracic) spine. Kyphosis can be caused by degenerative disease, developmental problems, fractures, or trauma.

Many people have some form of mild kyphosis, a spinal curve that results in an abnormally rounded back. Sometimes back pain, muscle fatigue, and stiffness in the back are associated with this disorder. Most often, these problems do not become progressively worse with time. In more severe situations, however, the patient may notice symptoms worsening with time. The kyphosis might be progressing, causing a more exaggerated hunchback. In rare cases, this can lead to compression of the spinal cord with neurological and other problems.
